HUNGER GAMES : MOCKINGJAY PART 1 ★ | MOVIE REVIEW

Hey Zengarmy,

Just thought that I would firstly quote a sentence from this movie,
as an opening for my blog post.

"The damage, the fatigue, the imperfections.
That's how they recognize me, that's why I belong to them."

I'M A HUGE FAN OF THE HUNGER GAMES.
When I first watched the debut movie of this franchise,
I knew that this movie is going to be long-lived in my heart.
There's something very special about this movie.
The humanity portrayed in this movie ...
The unexpected plot in this movie ...
It's just so captivating for me.

Well ... I haven't read the book yet.
I'm not much of a book-after-movie person.
I would read the book before the movie is shown,
but I would rarely read the book after I've watched the movie.
( Does that even make sense ? Probably not hahaha. )

A lot of people have been recommending me to read the book before the movie,
But since I "accidentally" watched the movie before the book,
I decided not to read the book.
Not because I didn't want to,
but because the book is usually better than the movie,
AND I'M SO AFRAID THAT I MIGHT GET VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH THE MOVIE.
Plus I didn't want to know the plot beforehand,
that's just ... DUH.
There's no point watching a movie that you've already knew the plot right ?

Okay. Enough rambling.
Let's get started with the movie review.

I would give this movie a 7.0 marks out of 10 marks.

Sadly,
overall I'm not so satisfied & convinced by this movie.
Firstly, it is a PART ONE,
and no one would ever get satisfied with a movie-cut-into-two.
The only reason I'm watching this is because of Jennifer Lawrence,
plus, I didn't want to miss out any plot, since I haven't read the whole book yet.

Let's commence with Jennifer Lawrence.
SHE IS THE PERFECT ROLE FOR KATNISS EVERDEEN !!!
The only saving grace of this movie is her acting.
I was very touched by a few scenes of her,
she definitely delivered the agony of the character very well,
and I get emotional goosebumps and tears from her performance.
Very well done.

I would regard this movie as an emotional movie,
rather than an action-packed movie.
If you're anticipating the fights & all those stuffs that you saw in the previous ones,
then this movie is NOT for you, I'm sorry.

This movie is pretty much just an EXPLANATION to those who haven't read the book yet.
I'm not hating this movie, in fact I actually pretty enjoyed this movie.
It's just that, this movie doesn't "wow" me at all.
All I get is emotional impact from Jennifer Lawrence & Julianne Moore's characters,
and nothing else.

S P O I L E R   A L E R T !

DON'T READ ANYMORE FURTHER IF YOU HAVEN'T WATCHED THE MOVIE.

However, this movie isn't all that bad honestly.
These are some scenes & quotes from the movie,
that I actually loved very much !!!

When Katniss is requested by President Coin to be the Mockingjay,
she made a request so that her sister, Prim can keep her cat, Buttercup.

Katniss Everdeen: I have a message for President Snow:
"The fire is catching. If we burn, YOU BURN WITH US !"

Eddy: Are you fighting, Katniss? Are you here to fight with us?
Katniss Everdeen: I am. I will.

Katniss Everdeen: I never wanted any of this, I never wanted to be in the Games,
I just wanted to save my sister and keep Peeta alive.

When Katniss Everdeen sings.

When Gale & other 5 members have gone for an rescue operation
for the Victor in the Tribute Tower in the Capitol,
they lost contact with District 13.
Katniss thought that she might lose both Gale & Peeta at the same time,
and she yelled historically.

When Johanna, Annie, and Peeta were recsued in the end.

All in all,
I would still recommend you guys to watch this movie.
It's overall worth watching,
just ... don't expect too much thrill from this movie.

HAHAHAHAHA !
