HOW TO : UKULELE FOR THE BEGINNERS!

Hey Zengarmy,

So... I bought a new ukulele on Monday! (which is like, 4 days ago?)
I have been always wanting to buy my own ukulele since I was like,
I don't know, maybe 14 years old? And I FINALLY BOUGHT IT ASDFGH!!!
This blog post may be pointless to some of you guys, but it means a lot
to me in the sense that one of the achievements (lol) in my life has been
unlocked!! So before I move on to more rambling on my newly purchase,
here are a few shots that I've taken on my bae :

Anyways, I thought it would be a great idea to include in this post
some easy tips for the beginners on how to learn the ukulele basics!
For me, since I didn't have ANY PREVIOUS ENCOUNTER with ukulele,
I know how it feels like to be completely clueless when you first start
off. Hence, this blog post is a small summary of what I've been learning
this few days and I hope it does help you in some way if you ever wanted
to learn how to play a ukulele in the future! Remember, Google is your bff!

Okay. So the first thing you should know is how to hold your ukulele.
Regardless of whether you're left-handed or right-handed, one should
always hold his / her ukulele with the left arm and strum the string
with at least 2 fingers on the right hand. :) Next up, when you strum
your ukulele's string, DO NOT STRUM IT WITH ONE FINGER BECAUSE IT
AIN'T GONNA MAKE ANY SOUND!!! How do I know? Because I did this
and I literally thought my ukulele is broken until I asked my friend &
he told me everybody strums with at least 2 fingers (index + thumb).

The reason why you need to strum the string with at least 2 fingers
is because by doing so it's going to provide more strength to help you
produce a clearer and more solid sound when you strum the string.

(I realized I didn't even use a single comma for the paragraph above & I'm so amazed by myself!)

After you've learned how to hold and strum a ukulele correctly,
the next step is to know where to press in order to produce a note.
Now I know the diagram above is going to scare the shit out of you,
but trust me, once you get the hang of it, it's actually not that bad.

The basic thing you need to know is what a fret is.
A fret is basically the rectangular column that serves
to section the strings into 12 parts (count yourself!).
The first fret starts from the the first column directly
beneath the head of the ukulele, and the rest follows.

When the phrase "Capo 5" appears in the chords of a song
that you're playing, it simply means clipping the capo
(a capo is basically a clipper that clips onto an entire fret)
onto the fifth fret in order to change the key of the song.

Okay I'm such a stupid blogger for not taking a picture of my
capo! But anyhow, you can go over to my YouTube channel to
check out a few of my recent ukulele covers if you're interested!
